OUR STORY

Suboptimal Research Ltd was founded in 2023 as the official European branch of Avantier Inc., a leading name in advanced custom optics. But our story didn’t start there. It grew organically – from years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, R&D, and the semiconductor industry – into a business built on trust, technical insight, and long-term partnerships.

After working closely with global suppliers and gaining a deep understanding of the supply chain, we saw a clear opportunity: to create a company that could bridge the gap between high-precision custom optics and vacuum technology. That’s when Gergő and Mark teamed up – after years of working together as supplier and client through Metlok Engineering Ltd – to bring this vision to life.
